Good Evening Resident
Chelmsley Wood Team Newsletter 18th June 2026
Let’s give a Big Chelmsley Wood WELCOME to our new PCSO’s Abby & Luke, please stop and say hi to them if you see them out and about.
WOW what an excellent response to the WMNow Action on ASB survey Superintendent Simon Inglis, the force’s lead for antisocial behaviour, said: “Thank you to everyone who shared or filled in our Action on ASB survey. We had just under 13K responses from across the West Midlands, which is a staggering amount and believed to be the highest response rate for any force across the UK.” Every police force across England and Wales creates an ASB action plan. The plans explain how each police force intends to reduce and prevent ASB. For more information about ASB and how to report it, Antisocial behaviour | West Midlands Police You can find our force-wide ASB plan here Antisocial behaviour action plan | West Midlands Police
Arrests It has been a week for arresting prolific shoplifters. One female as hit Asda on numerous occasions by walking out with a full trolley load of goods. Now arrested and remanded. A Male who causes harm to multiple shops on our area has been arrested & recalled to prison. Another male was arrested for shoplifting at Asda, and when searched he was also in possession of cannabis. A couple of rough sleepers who are known to beg in our area have been arrested for breaching their CPN’s, Community Protection Notice. This type of nuisance behaviour affects, and is reported to us by, many of our residents, but it takes a staged process to get to this point. We engage with the offenders, offering them support and connection to many Partner Agencies. If they don’t take our advice and offers of help but continue this line of behaviour they are issued with a CPW, Community Protection Warning. If they still persist with this course of behaviour a CPN is issued and if/when the CPN is breached the offender will be arrested.
Lots of community engagements have taken place this week, a new Cuppa with a Coppa at Fordbridge Centre was held by PCSO Carr. PCSO Ahmed met residents at Lily’s on Monday and PCSO Clamp was at Three Trees last night. Both our new PCSO’s are keen to get to know the area and residents so this evening they are out patrolling with Chelmsley Wood Streetwatch. The PCSO’s have also been in Coleshill Heath School this week talking to year 1 & 2 students for careers week. It was encouraging to see a couple of students in Police costumes along with the many football kits. Maybe the footballers aspire to play in the 2038 World Cup, whatever their future careers we wish them well.
